Schools: Forest Hill Public School (JK to Grade 8) is in Midhurst. The public board's list for the Springwater area also includes Hillsdale, Huronia Centennial and Minesing Central elementary schools, with Elmvale District High School for secondary. The Township also lists Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic School and the Catholic high schools in Barrie and Midland. School boundaries change, so check by address with the Simcoe County District School Board or the Simcoe Muskoka Catholic District School Board.

Outdoors: the Nine Mile Portage trail runs about 15 km from Memorial Square in Barrie to Fort Willow in Springwater, and the North Simcoe Rail Trail runs through central Springwater.
